Moto Rodeo Practice & Moto Maintenance with Katie Nelson
Join us for our motorcycle maintenance workshop featuring Certified Master Tech for BMW Motorrad, Katie Nelson. Katie has been with Long Beach BMW Motorcycles for nearly 6 years and we are thrilled to have her share her knowledge and hands-on skills! There will also be a riding skills portion for this session.

Gymkhana Fireworks
This course features a mixture of slow speed maneuvering (think consecutive tight U-turns) and faster weaving drills to practice body position (counterweighting) , knowing where to look, direct steering vs countersteering, and throttle and control. Skills that are essential for everyday riding.

Car Doors & Ladders
This two part course features a swerving exercise to help avoid those “car doors” or worse! As well as, practicing techniques for running over potentially dangerous objects that can be scattered throughout city streets.
Featured Drills:
Swerving
First: Practice to understand how to use countersteering effectively to move out of the way of incoming hazards and understanding key techniques to help maintain traction and control.
Second: Instructors will prompt riders to swerve on signal- this will help reduce anticipation and act as if you would in a situation on the road.

Piccadilly Loop & Oh Sh*t
The first drill is called the "Oh Sh*t" drill, which will help you improve your ability to stop suddenly while in a turn. This exercise is designed to enhance your control and technique in high-pressure situations. Following that, we will move on to the "Piccadilly Loop" drill. This exercise will challenge you to navigate through traffic while performing a higher speed figure-eight. By combining speed and traffic management.
